The following events are tentative.

Showing of Back to the Future in a public setting (Date to be announced)
This has been successful every time we attend. Each theater mentions it would like to repeat, with our presence, every year.
The event can be thought of as a “nice evening block party with a car show and movie”.
The presentation of the movie is unique – it is projected onto the “wall” of the building, or some kind of inflatable screen, with the audience “camping out” in the area facing it. Of course, the cars displayed will be stainless steel gull-winged automobiles.
Repeat Run up the Ortega Highway: This event was very well received by those who attended. Due to the response, will will repeat this event again. (Note the location of this event will take place up to the summit of Highway 74 at the Ortega Oaks Candy and Goods Store.)
Repeat visit to the Mullin Collection: This event was very well received by those who attended. Due to the response, will will repeat this event again. (Note the location of this event will be in Oxnard.)
Repeat visit to the Nethercutt Collection: This event was very well received by those who attended. Due to the response, will will repeat this event again. (Note the location of this event will be in Sylmar.)

The following events were proposed.

Train Day Car Rallye and Lunch:
This is a Car Rallye based on the theme of Railroading. The event will start at a Railroad related location, travel North to Arroyo Grande where we will stop for an hour and ride the miniature Live Steam trains at the Bitter Creek and Western Railroad, and then continue up to the Rock ‘n Roll Diner in Oceano. This will be a combined event with the Paradise British Car Club. Prizes will be awarded for the top number of correct answers to the Rallye. (Note the location of the start point in Santa Maria is a 3+ hour drive North from Los Angeles.)
Summer Social and Visit to the Petersen Automotive Museum (July-August Timeframe): The SCDC may work with the DOA to sponsor a trip to this prestigious location where many fantastic exhibits can be seen. This is also the home of one of the famous Gold American Express cars. The DOA can arrange a private showing of this car. With the help of the DOA, admission to the museum will be discounted, or free, for its members (part of the privilege of DOA membership). Non-DOA members will be requested to pay the museum entry fee (which should be discounted) A party with food and drink will later be held the same day. (Location of this event will be in downtown Los Angeles.)
A Day and Evening in Santa Barbara (Time Frame TBD): The plan has been considered several times. On Saturday morning, we will venture up from Malibu on PCH. We will spend the night in one of the nice affordable hotels (Ronald Ferguson knows a few secrets), and enjoy this spot on the American Rivera. (If the DOA provides sponsorship, Ron may get a local very special guest or two who will spend time to talk to us at a small dinner party.) (Location of this event will be in the Santa Barbara area.)
A visit to Hearst Castle (Time Frame TBD) This is an old idea that keeps popping up. It will be a two and a half day event due to the distance (it is a four hour drive from Los Angeles). The idea is to start on Friday evening, and stay overnight at one of the communities on the coast. On Saturday morning, the gaggle will then proceed up to San Simeon, and spend a few hours touring the estate. Afterward, we will spend the night in , Bay. Sunday morning, those who are inclined may play Golf or Tennis, take another tour, enjoy the beach, or just lay around until early afternoon when we have to face reality – the early drive home to get enough sleep for Monday morning! (Location of this event will be primarily in San Simeon and Morro Bay area, with a TBD location approximately 2 hours “drive time” North of Los Angeles.)
Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade (Time Frame TBD) This is always fun! It is a very unique parade where every vehicle must have at least 100 lights for each wheel on the car. Over several years, many SCDC members have entered as a group. One year (without killing their batteries) they won first place! Given the interest, we will do this again. (Stay Tuned) (Location of this event will be in the Palm Springs area.)
United Scottish Society Scottish Games (Saturday & Sunday, usually in May) This is one of the best Scottish Games held in the Southern California area, held on the 3-day Memorial Day weekend. Part of the games is a British car show, which is where a group of DMCs is welcomed. (Discount admission is provided for each passenger in the car.) This event is only proposed at this time, as the promoters are changing the structure of the event. (Location of this event will be at the Orange County Fairgrounds)
Sixty-Sixers Minor League Baseball Game and Car Show (Summer) This is a trip to attend a “Sixty-Sixers” Minor League Baseball Game. We will be invited to display our cars, and possibly participate in an an active roll on the field, while enjoying the game. (Exact details are not yet worked out.) Safe parking (away from foul balls) will be provided. Minor league Baseball is often been referred to as the cheapest form of entertainment possible! (Location of this event will be the Inland Empire.)
